NOSEGAY - noun / noʊzˌɡeɪ : late Middle EnglishA Small bouquet of flowers, typically sweet smelling, arranged and carried as an ornament or given as a token of affection and esteem : popular in the Victorian era, Nosegay's were often worn at the bosom or held in the hand - their fragrant blooms believed not only to delight the senses but also to ward off unpleasant odours or miasmas.
